The power of language and your brand’s success

You have the opportunity to make or break your brand’s success. The way you identify yourself impacts how you position your business too. Especially if you’re a solopreneur or small business owner who feels super involved in the business (and we all do).

How you frame your identity as an individual OR as a business, relies on the very simple word: ‘be’ (or any version of it).

We label ourselves with it:

  • I am a designer
  • I am a coach
  • I am an entrepreneur
  • I am autistic
  • I am diagnosed with add

We classify ourselves with it:

  • I am not good at drawing
  • I am visually oriented
  • I am not ready to do that
  • This is (not) who I am

There’s power in that. It can limit us, or empower us.

What if you’d use ‘I am’ in a way that empowers you or your brand to be who you CHOOSE to be? To strive to become somebody or something you may not be now, but can be in the future? Decide who you are. Don’t limit yourself.

Now try again. Who are you?

I am fierce. I am kind. I am creative, compassionate, headstrong, brutally honest, aware, loving and friggin’ REBELICIOUS. I act accordingly as much as I can, because this is who I choose to be. This means I need to challenge myself sometimes., cuz it doesn’t always come naturally (hey, I too want to hide sometimes).

This affects my brand’s succes. One cannot go without the other. My brand’s identity does not only rely on me, though. I bring those parts of me that are relevant to my audience, because I know that those parts of me help them.

CHOOSE who you are and how you show up. And remember: you’re FUCKING REBELICIOUS!
