Start with the Heart of your Brand

Every brand that wants to give a meaningful, lasting experience places great emphasis on the message. Yes, successful brands know that the products are merely a tool.

What discerns you from others is the story.

You, as an entrepreneur, no matter how big or small your company is or how long you’ve been running it, NEED a story. Your business depends on the message to move forward, because customers want to feel connected, engaged.

Is this new to you? Probably not.

And YAY to YOU if you realize how detrimental your message is to your brand’s success!

But what’s the problem when it comes to defining that message?

Let me tell you: here’s what the majority of independent professionals do wrong:

  • They start with the website and discover they can’t find the words to get the right message across
  • They expect copywriters, or other marketing professionals to fix that with insufficient information (it’s like asking a private chef to cook your favorite meal, but not giving him the ingredients nor the recipe to do that)
  • They bring together bits and pieces – copy, colors, logos and technology – without aligning them properly
And the consequences?
  • They waste time on trying to find words and a message, without having any direction to look for
  • They waste money on marketing that has no solid foundation
  • Any attempt to share the message feels uneasy or incongruent
  • They fail to do the brand any justice, which means that customers don’t get the right experience immediately, which in turn means that the right people might tune out and the wrong people find their way in
  • They keep swimming in the pool of mediocrity, with mediocre prices

In short: they leave money on the table.

Here’s the thing:

You cannot expect to win the game if you don’t know the name of the game, don’t know the rules, don’t know the tools and don’t have a goal.

If you want to uplevel your business, you need to start RIGHT: with the heart of your brand. You need to first discover who you are as a brand, your vision, your mission, core beliefs and attitudes, primary values. You need to fully understand your customer and his needs. You need to know how you’re gonna show up to help them with their struggles.

And once that’s crystal clear, you can find the words that unapologetically express what you believe. Words that show your brand’s personality and inspire the right customers.

Any brand that is successful goes back to the drawing table to redefine that message.

Don’t make the mistake by skipping the first steps that unveil the true nature of who you are and what you stand for. You need to peel off all the layers to get to the core.

It’s a step-by-step process that will open up all the beautiful words you have inside of you. The message that’s waiting to be shared.

Let’s do it. I’m ready. Are you?
